Why We're Building This
A masjid being built from the ground up, for every Muslim in Elk Grove.
Where This Started
This effort began with a simple hope: a place where every Muslim in Elk Grove feels at home. Not because of where they’re from, who they know, or which group they belong to — but because they believe, they pray, and they want to grow in their deen alongside a community that does the same.
We are still in our earliest days. There is no building yet, no fixed address, no long history — only a group of neighbors who believe Elk Grove is ready for a masjid built this way, and who are willing to do the work of establishing one.
Why Elk Grove
Elk Grove is home to more than 185,000 people, and roughly one in four is under the age of eighteen. It is a young, growing, diverse community — and its Muslim families are growing with it.
We believe a community this size, with this many young families, deserves an Islamic institution built specifically around its needs: one that grows up alongside the people who live here, rather than asking them to travel elsewhere for the kind of spiritual home every community deserves.
What We Hope to Build
We hope to build a masjid that takes worship seriously, treats every person with dignity, and helps families raise children who know and love their deen. A place where new Muslims are welcomed without judgment, where longtime Muslims feel spiritually nourished, and where our non-Muslim neighbors see a good neighbor in return.
None of this happens overnight. It starts with gathering the people who share this vision, and building — patiently, honestly, and together — from there.

Salah, dhikr, and sincere devotion come first; everything else supports that purpose.

Muslims from every background, culture, and language are equally at home here.

Learning about Islam should shape who we are, not just what we know.

Parents, children, and elders should be able to grow in faith together, not separately.
